Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (January 14th to January 21th, 2012)

The bearing steel price in this week basically kept stable. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,746 yuan/ton, the mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,300 yuan/ton. There was no market deal for the last transaction week as for the spring festival holidays. Market in this year has been drawn to a successful conclusion. The domestic iron essence pink market in this week mixed with rising & declining, while nearly no deal during holidays. The imported ore market was stable under the weakness. The freight market continued to keep the trend of weakness, and the freight index for the three main ship also declined to different extent. Price for the domestic pig iron market in this week basically kept stable while operate under weakness, meanwhile the market deal was light, but the inventory had increased, parts of iron plants closed during the holidays. The whole DRI market entered into the closed state, stock market transaction for some regions obviously reduced, however, some individual merchants still maintained the normal production. The domestic square billet market operated with weakness, price in most of regions kept stable, price for some individual regions in northern part slightly adjusted influenced by the price variation in Tangshan, for southern regions, only Fujian slightly declined its price. There was less market deal for the domestic scrap market in this week. As the spring festival is approaching, there was nearly no purchasing for downstream market, at the same time, the market demand was also light, price basically kept stable. The imported coking coal market operated with weakness, market price mainly kept stable, while price for some individual species slightly decreased. The overall coke market was stable with common deal. The common alloy and the special alloy market maintained stable. Purchasing for the chrome alloy market came to an end. Quotation for chrome ore market was stable with light market deal.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market was stable and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Daye Nonferrous GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,700 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was 5,250 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 5,300 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market was stable, meanwhile the deal was weak; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,550 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market was stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,700yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,750 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,700yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market kept stable and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 5,600yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,800yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market kept stable and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,950yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,650 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,400 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market maintained stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,450 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
