Weekly Review of Bearing Steel Market in China (February 11th to February 17th, 2012)

The bearing steel price in this week basically kept stable. Up to Friday, the national average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,732 yuan/ton, dropped 4 yuan/ton compared with the price in last week, the mainstream quotation for the second tier steel plant in South China was between 5,250 yuan/ton and 5,350 yuan/ton. Quotation for bearing steel in each region was steady in this week, meanwhile delivery also kept stable. However, the whole steel market was not ideal, price mainly dropped which has brought certain impact for the market. It is estimated that market price of bearing steel will decline to some extent in next week.
The domestic iron essence pink market in this week dropped, the market demand was weak, though pink price in some individual regions slightly declined, the deal was not improved. The whole imported ore market operated under weakness, purchasing willing in some steel plants was much weaker and the inquiry was light. The freight market slightly increased. The domestic pig iron market in this week was still weak as before, most of merchants said that it is difficult to reach the deal. The overall DRI market was stable. The domestic square billet market operated with weakness, and the price constantly dropped about 20-40 yuan/ton, the deal was also light. The domestic scrap market generally declined about 20-100 yuan/ton in this week, while the market deal increased compared with that in last week. The imported coking coal market operated with weakness, market price mainly kept stable. The overall coke market ran under weakness, the coke purchasing price decreased for some steel plants. The common alloy and the special alloy market maintained stable. Quotation for chrome ore market increased with more market deal.
[East China Region] This week the bearing steel price in East China market kept stable and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Hangzhou market was as follows: Xinye GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 5,250 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 non-annealed steel was between 5,200 yuan/ton and 5,250 yuan/ton; Shanghai No. 5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat treatment spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,700 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat treatment non-annealed steel was between 5,250 yuan/ton and 5,300 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 heat treatment annealed steel was 5,350 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non annealed steel was out of stock. This week the bearing steel price in Wuxi market slightly declined, meanwhile the deal was weak; Up to this weekend, the quotation in Wuxi market was as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot rolled non annealed steel was 5,900 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous annealed steel was 6,500yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,550yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,450 yuan/ton with a few of stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,450 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot rolled non-annealed steel was 5,500 yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Luoyang market was stable; the deal was common. Up to this weekend, the quotation in Luoyang market was as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton and GCr15Φ24-50 non-annealed steel was 5,700yuan/ton; Xingyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,700yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock, die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,650 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,650yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Wuhan market was stable and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 non-annealed steel was 5,550yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,800yuan/ton and die casting annealed steel was 7,800yuan/ton; GCr15Φ42-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week the bearing steel price in Shenyang market kept stable and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,800yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 5,650 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,400 yuan/ton. This week the bearing steel price in Harbin market maintained stable and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat treatment annealed steel was 6,900yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week the price of bearing steel in Chengdu market was stable and the market resource was not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,450 yuan/ton; Xining SteelΦ150-200 die casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton with a few of stock. This week the bearing steel resource in Chongqing market was stable, Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat treatment annealed steel was out of stock; Xining SteelΦ80-120 rolled annealing steel was 6,600yuan/ton, out of stock; part of Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton, part of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealing steel was 7,600 yuan/ton with a few of stock.
