Price Changes of Industrial Producers Nationwide in March 2012

In March 2012, the exfactory price of industrial producers around China declined 0.3 percent year on year, with the sequential growth of 0.3 percent. The purchase price of industrial producers rose by 0.1 percent year on year, with the sequential growth of 0.1 percent. As for the average prices from January to March 2012, the exfactory price rose by 0.1 percent while the purchase price rose by 1.0 percent. I. Year-on-year price changes related to industrial producers As for the ex-factory price, the price of means of production fell 0.8 percent compare with the performance last year, wherein, the price in the mineral industry rose by 3.7%, the price in the raw materials industry rose by 0.8 percent, and the price in the processing industry fell 2.0 percent; the price of means of livelihood rose by 1.4 percent, wherein, the food price rose by 2.4 percent, clothing price rose by 2.6 percent, the price of undurable goods rose by 1.2%, and the price of durable consumer goods fell 0.7 percent. As for the purchase price, the price of ferrous metals declined 4.2 percent, non-ferrous materials and wires fell 4.0 percent, chemical raw materials fell 1.9 percent, fuel and power rose by 5.1%, building materials and non-metal rose by 2.4 percent, lumber and pulp rose by 1.1 percent, and farm and sideline products rose by 0.9 percent. II. Month-on-month price changes related to industrial producers As for the ex-factory price, the price of means of production rose by 0.3 percent compare with the performance last month, wherein, the price in the mineral industry and raw materials industry rose by 0.8 percent, and the price in the processing industry rose by 0.1 percent; the price of means of livelihood rose by 0.1 percent, wherein, the food price rose by 0.2 percent, clothing price rose by 0.1 percent, the price of undurable goods rose by 0.3 percent, and the price of durable consumer goods fell 0.1 percent. As for the purchase price, the price of fuels and power rose by 0.8 percent, ferrous metals declined 0.2 percent, non-ferrous materials and wires rose by 0.2 percent, textile raw materials rose by 0.2 percent, and building materials and semi-finished articles fell 0.2 percent.
