The bearing steel price sharply dropped this week. Up to Friday, the average price of continuous casting non-annealed steel nationwide was 5411 yuan/ton, 118 yuan less per ton compared with previous week, and the prevailing quotations for continuous casting non-annealed steel from the second ranking steel plants in South China was from 4700 to 4850 yuan/ton. The average price of die-casting annealed steel was 8029 yuan/ton, 22 yuan less per ton compared with previous week. Under the influence of the downtrend in the overall steel market, the bearing steel market faltered. Although the price if building materials somewhat rose, it was no more than a oversold bounce as the price trend was still in the downward channel, and had no impact on the price in the bearing steel market. The market demand of the bearing steel is to remain poor in the short term, and is difficult to get improved. It is expected that the bearing steel market will continue to go down in a weak tendency next week.
The price in the domestic ore iron powder market went down as whole, and the deal weakened. The imported ore market experienced continuous decline in price. The nickel ore market was in the vulnerable consolidation, the deal was light, the spot goods in port were in excess of demand, traders held negative view to the market outlook. The marine market accelerated the decline in price, with the Shanghai Composite index breaking a 1, 000-point barrier. The price in the pig iron market dropped, and the deal was light. The direct reduction iron market was in the vulnerable operation as a whole, where the spot market turnover remained light, and the spot market quote is expected to further decline. The steel billet market continued the downtrend, and the price in Tangshan market fell 30 yuan/ton by press time. The scrap steel market continued the downtrend, where the price moved closer to the low level, the downtrend slowed down compared with last week, the range of price drop relatively narrowed but still large, with the cumulative drop up to more than 200 yuan/ton in some areas this week. The coking coal price fell much further. Shanxi Coking Coal Group cut the ex-factory price of its coking coal of all varieties in the range of 100 to 150 yuan/ton, so the purchase price of coking coal to downstream steel enterprises fell. The imported coal market remained weak, where the coal price experienced sharp decline. The range of price drop in the core market continued to enlarge, 50-100 yuan/ton fell in the mainstream areas, and the market panic constantly spreaded. The commom alloy market mainly operated in the vulnerable consolidation trend. The whole special alloy market experienced slight price drop with some varieties in the state of vulnerable consolidation.
[East China Region] This week, the price of bearing steel in East China market went down dramatically, and the market deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotations in Hangzhou market are as follows: Xinye GCr15Φ50-70 non-annealed steel was 4,800 yuan/ton; Echeng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 heat-treated non-annealed steel was 4700 yuan/ton; Shanghai No.5 Steel Plant GCr15Φ26-70 heat-treated spheroidizing annealed steel was 7,300 yuan/ton; Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ50 non-annealed steel was 5,000 yuan/ton, less stock; Nanjing Steel Group GCr15Φ16-40 heat-treated non-annealed steel was 4,750 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ30-95 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was 4,850 yuan/ton; Shougang Group GCr15Φ50 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was out of stock. This week, the bearing steel price in Wuxi market also dropped, and the deal was common; Up to this weekend, the quotations in Wuxi market are as follows: Xingcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-75 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was 5,100 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ30-50 continuous casting annealed steel was 5,750 yuan/ton; Beiman Steel GCr15Φ40-75 heat-treated annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton; Wuxi Huarun Steel GCr15Φ50-80 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was 4,850 yuan/ton, less stock; Nanjing Steel GCr15Φ50 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was around 4,800 yuan/ton; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 hot-rolled non-annealed steel was 4,900yuan/ton.
[Central South China Region] This week, the bearing steel price fell in Luoyang market and the deal was light. Up to this weekend, the quotations in Luoyang market are as follows: Shijiazhuang Steel GCr15Φ16-50 heat-treated annealed steel was 6,000 yuan/ton and the GCr15Φ24-50 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,200 yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ50-130 die-casting non-annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Special Steel GCr15Φ45 continuous casting annealed steel was 5,900 yuan/ton, out of stock, and the die-casting non-annealed steel was 5,100 yuan/ton; Xining Steel GCr15Φ25-70 continuous casting non-annealed steal was 5,150 yuan/ton. This week, the bearing steel price in Wuhan market went down and the deal was common. Echeng Steel GCr15Φ14-30 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,150 yuan/ton; Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ80-110 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,800 yuan/ton, GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,750 yuan/ton, and the die-casting annealed steel was 7,500 yuan/ton.
[North China Region] This week, the bearing steel price in Shenyang market fell and the deal was common. Up to this weekend, Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-60 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,000 yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ25-40 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,100 yuan/ton; Benxi Steel Φ70-130 continuous casting steel was 4,850 yuan/ton, Benxi Steel GCr15Φ150-180 die-casting annealed steel was 7,200 yuan/ton. This week, the bearing steel price in Harbin market dropped and the deal was common. Benxi Steel GCr15Φ50-75 heat-treated annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton, out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ50 heat-treated annealed steel was out of stock; Dongbei Special Steel GCr15Φ40-75 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,300 yuan/ton.
[Southwest China Region] This week, the bearing steel price in Chengdu market dropped and the market resources were not sufficient. Up to this weekend, Xinyegang Steel GCr15Φ50 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5900 yuan/ton, Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ80-130 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,950 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ150-200 die-casting annealed steel was 7,800 yuan/ton, out of stock; Xining Steel GCr15Φ30-75 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,500 yuan/ton, less stock. This week, the bearing steel prices in Chongqing market went down in the weaktrend. Donghua Special Steel GCr15Φ20-30 heat-treated annealed steel was out of stock; Xining Steel Φ80-120 rolled annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton, out of stock; Changcheng Steel GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting non-annealed steel was 5,850 yuan/ton, some of GCr15Φ30-65 continuous casting annealed steel was 6,600 yuan/ton; Xining Steel Φ80-150 forged annealed steel was 7,600 yuan/ton, less stock.
