ABMA Staff Visit Member Facilities
ABMA Senior Associate Kelly Sherrard recently visited Sullivan Steel Service’s 40,000 sq ft warehouse in Pennington, NJ. Tom Trainer, Product Manager at Sullivan Steel, introduced Kelly to the management team and discussed a few of their programs to support material supply to Aerospace bearing manufacturers, specifically the XD15NW, M50 VIMVAR and 52100 VAR grades. The effort builds on Sullivan’s 30 year history supporting bearing manufacturers with a focus on 52100 tube and bar.
While touring the facility, Sullivan also showed Kelly their handheld XRF Analyzer, a NDT device that verifies material grade in just seconds. This analyzer has been implemented at Sullivan to verify steel grades for shipping and receiving.
ABMA President Scott Lynch visited two members while traveling in the Midwest. His first stop was to Standard Locknut in Westfield, IN where Ollie Martins introduced him to newly appointed President & CEO Dwight DePeau and the rest of the Management Team. Dwight will be attending the ABMA Fall Meeting with Ollie and excited for the opportunities to engage in ABMA.
Scott also visited Jaime Torres, Director of Business Operations for Rexnord Industries' Bearing Group. Jaime will be taking a more active role representing Rexnord within ABMA and was eager to learn more about the association's programs and services.
In the coming months, ABMA staff will also be visiting Auburn Ball Bearing and Rome Strip Steel.
