ANAHAEIM,Calif. -- In January, Matrix Shafts brought to the market the Matrix Flight System, a fitting solution for wood shafts created to simplify the fitting process for tour players, club builders and tour reps alike. Representing the three different launch profiles-low, mid and high- the Matrix Flight System consists of the OZIK M3 Black Tie, the OZIK Q3 Red Tie, and the OZIK X3 White Tie.
This concept was so widely accepted from dealers and players all over the world, that Matrix didn't want to stop with just the woods. Expanding from the multiple major winning OZIK Altus series, the Matrix R&D team, led by Chief Designer Daniel You, created the OZIK Altus MFS Series.
The OZIK Altus MFS Series mirrors the same launch profiles of the MFS wood line, and consists of the low-launching, low-spinning OZIK HM3 Altus, the mid-launching, mid-spinning OZIK HQ3 Altus, and the high-launching, low-spinning OZIK HX3 Altus. The line also cosmetically mirrors the Matrix Flight System woods, represented with the same black, red and white base coats.
"The OZIK Altus is a shaft that players are turning to in their hybrids week after week," said Director of Tour Operations, Joe Miera. "On the PGA Tour it was the most used hybrid model in 2011, 2012 and up to this date in the current 2013 season, which says a lot about its quality and reputation. The new Altus MFS Series now provides us with an Altus series shaft that can fit every player in the bell curve."
The X3 Altus made its PGA Tour debut last week at The Barclays, with the Q3 Altus set to make its PGA Tour debut in the 2014 season. The Altus MFS Series shafts are currently stocked in a number of hybrid clubs, including Adams IDEA Super DHY.
