GGB Slovakia ISO certified for energy management

SUČANY, Slovakia, December 2013 – GGB Slovakia s.r.o., a subsidiary of GGB Bearing Technology, has been certified to the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 50001 standard for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving its energy management system. The second company to achieve this certification, it was assessed and certified by independent auditor, Astraia Certification s.r.o. “Compliance with this standard has a significant positive impact on both our operational and environmental performance,” said Robert Paskuliak, Plant Manager of GGB Sučany. “Improving energy efficiency not only helps boost our bottom line, but also underscores our commitment to responsible environmental stewardship, a core value of both GGB and our parent, EnPro industries.” ISO 50001 was developed by ISO to enable organizations to follow a systematic approach to achieving continual improvement in their energy performance. It specifies requirements for energy use and consumption, including measurement, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices for equipment, systems, processes and personnel that contribute to energy performance.
