On Jan. 6, Cardinal Rubber & Seal acquired Stultz Machine, Tool & Equipment, which it will rename Stultz Tool & Equipment. Cardinal has been in business in Roanoke for 41 years. The company distributes industrial parts such as hoses, fittings, seals and gaskets and also manufactures gaskets. Stultz, which has operated in Roanoke for 51 years, is a sales, repair and service location for hydraulics, air compressors and pneumatic tools. Cardinal has branches in Richmond and in Rock Hill, S.C. It has 46 employees total and 27 in Roanoke, according to Vice President Pat Lawhorn. Stultz employs five but anticipates hiring five more people in the coming year, she said. Lawhorn said Stultz is currently seeking a person to help sell and rebuild tools. Swift Print, which has operated in Roanoke for more than 30 years, will move its production warehouse from Williamson Road to 369 Church Ave. in southwest Roanoke. The main office will remain on Electric Road in Roanoke County.
