Construction of COREX furnace in Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd progressed smoothly and completed more than eighty percent of the whole project

With the joint efforts of construction units, the construction project of COREX furnace in Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd is progressing smoothly, and it has completed more than 80% of the whole project so far.
In 2013, the engineering of COREX furnace in Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd shifted to the phase of installing steel structure and equipments, and the project was orderly promoted in a strict accordance with project node. At present, the masonry construction of furnace with refractory materials has begun. With the coming of winter and decreasing temperature, in order to ensure winter construction and equipment installation, the construction staffs set up the thermal insulation shed and thermal insulation layer at construction site, which made the central heating run and ensured the winter construction. To prevent strong wind from damaging the facilities of heating shed and freezing equipments, the construction party arranged staffs to take turns on duty in a way that four shifts continously ran in 24 hours.
In order to adapt better to the situation of Xinjiang Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, the relocation project of COREX furnace which was based on the original technology made a lot of process improvement and optimization, makeing it more adapt to the changing situation of Xinjiang, for example anti-seismic grade changed from 7 magnitude of Shanghai to 8 magnitude of Xinjiang Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. In terms of preventing colds, some corresponding measures were adopted in heating the equipment room and anti-freezing the instruments and materials. As for the equipment repair, distribution, change and some small technical improvements, it also took the corresponding measures.
At the same time, combining with the material condition of Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, it took cinder spout angle and bonding pipes into comprehensive consideration. In combination with the operation habits of Bayi Iron & Steel Co., Ltd, it made adaptive revamping in engineering design, software control and so on. Through optimization and process improvement, it became more energy-saving, more environmental friendly with lower carbon, and had more reasonable layout.
