SKF to present application-focused solutions at ConExpo-Con/Agg show

Gothenburg, 25 February 2014: SKF will showcase product innovations and application solutions designed to improve the efficiency, reliability and performance of construction, mining and aggregate equipment at ConExpo-Con/Agg 2014.
Products will be displayed in context of the machine on which they typically would be used, so visitors can focus on specific equipment types. Key product applications for excavators, tunnel boring machines and conveyors will be highlighted, presenting application-specific SKF- and Lincoln-branded product solutions. Other equipment focal points will include road rollers, bulldozers and haul trucks. Experts will be on hand to discuss the benefits received from these solutions using product demonstrations, case studies and presentations.
SKF’s global engineering expertise and knowledge of the construction, mining and aggregate equipment market is combined with strategic products that deliver specialized solutions to challenges faced by industry OEMs. These product solutions are designed to increase productivity and to lower total cost of operation, which can be achieved by improved reliability, increased fuel efficiency, reduced environmental impact and increased operator safety.
SKF will present the following new products at ConExpo-Con/Agg:
Lincoln HTL 201US continuous hydraulic lubrication pump
The HTL 201US pump was designed to minimize friction and wear on small and medium series hydraulic hammers from 650 pounds (295 kg). Suitable for additional hydraulic attachments including claws, shears and mini excavators, the compact pump can be mounted directly on the attachment for continuous lubrication while the device is operating.
SKF TLMR automatic lubricant dispenser series
Developed for general machinery applications in heavy industry, the TLMR series of automatic lubricant dispensers is ideal for difficult-to-access or hazardous lubrication points. The lubricators are resistant to water, dust and vibration and provide reliable operation in extreme heat and cold.
Lincoln hydraulic PowerMaster motor
Designed for use with Lincoln’s PowerMaster III and PileDriver III pump tubes, the hydraulic PowerMaster motor features a rugged design with minimal moving parts for maximum reliability and durability in heavy-duty applications. Available in two sizes, the motor expands pumping capability to higher pressure and/or higher volume applications and requires no solenoid valves or external pressure or limit switches to complete a cycle.
Lincoln PowerLuber series 1880 grease gun
Powered by an efficient, 20-volt, lithium-ion battery, the PowerLuber series 1880 grease gun features a high-torque powerhead and delivers grease at up 10,000 psi (690 bar) in both high- and low-output settings. The tool utilizes a multifunction liquid crystal display (LCD) to accurately indicate standard readings such as battery level and grease flow. In addition, the LCD’s flow meter detects loss of prime, eliminating false readings to help ensure that the equipment being serviced is properly lubricated.
Lincoln PMV runaway controller
Compatible with all Lincoln PMV pumps, the PMV runaway controller prevents pump damage due to high runaway speeds if the lube drum or tank is depleted. The electronic controller shuts off the pump and signals an alarm if the preset cycle rate is exceeded. The unit is easy to install and operates independently of air supply volume and pressure.
Lincoln P205 lubrication pump
Developed for use with multi-line or progressive systems, the durable P205 lubrication pump provides continual lubrication of machines and systems that operate in harsh environments. Use of the P205 can lengthen maintenance intervals, when compared to manual lubrication, and the unit can operate up to five pump elements.
SKF also will display recently introduced products specifically designed for off-highway and mining applications:
Off-highway solutions
SKF Extended Life Plain Bearings combine a virtually maintenance-free design with the robust performance of conventional steel/steel spherical plain bearings. Because these bearings do not require re-lubrication, they reduce operating costs and minimize environmental impact.
SKF’s comprehensive portfolio of hydraulic seals offers improved hydraulic cylinder performance. Developed to retain hydraulic fluids, exclude contaminants and maintain hydraulic pressure, these sealing solutions include rod and buffer, piston, wiper and static seals, as well as guide and back-up rings.
Mining solutions
As part of the application-focused theme, SKF will feature newer solutions for conveyors, including the three-barrier solution, SE housings, sealed spherical roller bearings (SSRBs) and an idler sound monitor kit.
The three-barrier solution is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective solution that can extend service life without solid lubricants, taconite seals or large quantities of grease. When installed, the solution provides the bearing with three layers of protection during operation.
Featuring high-grade cast and ductile iron materials, large ribs in the base and extra material around attachment holes, SE housings resist shock loads and minimize distortion of the base and bearing seat at high loads.
Suitable for harsh environments, SSRBs feature upgraded steel developed with a new, patented heat treatment process. The result improves wear-resistance up to twice the service life under poor lubrication and contaminated conditions.
The hand-held SKF idler sound monitor kit helps detect early signs of idler roller failure, reduces belt damage and enables more cost-effective maintenance planning.
Held every three years, ConExpo-Con/Agg is the international gathering place for the construction industries, with a focus on construction, aggregates and ready mixed concrete machinery and equipment. The 2014 show is scheduled from March 4-8 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nev. SKF product solutions will be on display in Booth 11621 in the North Hall.
