Brazilian auto parts maker Torcomp to invest more than US$9-million in the first U.S. plant

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—A Brazilian car parts manufacturer is planning to break ground later this month in northeastern Pennsylvania for its first United States facility. Torcomp LLC is building a new factory in the Cumberland Valley Business Park, near Chambersburg, Pa. The facility will create 73 new jobs over the next three years. The Franklin County Area Development Corp. said construction of the 16,400-sq.ft. plant is expected to take six months and be completed in the fall. The company plans to invest more than US$9-million at the new site. Gov. Tom Corbett said the Pennsylvania Industrial Development Authority will provide a 15-year, $640,000 low-interest loan to the county development agency on behalf of Torcomp.
