China's first high-speed railway bearing industrial demonstration production line set up in Luoyang

Recently, the "key technology research and application of high-speed rail and urban rail transit vehicle bearings" project carried out by Luoyang Bearing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. sucessfully passed the inspection as the indicators of samples meet or exceed the same of similar import products. The project is expected to be completed before the end of June 2015, and realize full production after two years with an annual output of 60,000 sets of bearings. Luoyang Bearing Science & Technology will also build a high-speed rail bearings demonstration production line (domestic first) to promote the industrialization of home-made high-speed rail bearings. Bearings are critical parts of equipment manufacturing sector. The output value of China's bearing industry in 2010 was approximately 130 billion yuan, ranking third in the world. Although China has the independent intellectual property rights of high-speed EMU technologies, the basic supporting part 'bearing' still depend on imports from Sweden, Germany, Japan and the United States. "The real 'Made in China' of high-speed railway and urban rail transit must be based on domestic industrialization of key components," Ye Jun, chief engineer of Luoyang Bearing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. said, "and we are working hard every day to deliver that."
