• Order from Statoil and Statkraft for 67 Siemens SWT-6.0-154 wind turbines • Includes service and maintenance agreement Siemens Energy has received an order for Dudgeon offshore wind power plant in the UK. The Norwegian energy companies Statoil and Statkraft have awarded two contracts to Siemens Energy for the engineering, supply, assembly, commissioning and service of 67 Siemens D6 direct-drive wind turbines of the type SWT-6.0-154 rated at 6 megawatts (MW) each and equipped with a 154-meter rotor. Turbine delivery and installation will start in early 2017. Additionally, a service contract will cover operations and maintenance of the wind turbines through the first five years after commissioning. The Dudgeon offshore wind project is located 32 kilometers north off the city of Cromer in North Norfolk. The site is only 20 kilometers distant to Sheringham Shoal, another successful partnership of Statoil and Statkraft with Siemens wind turbines commissioned in 2011. Dudgeon offshore wind project is owned by Statoil (70%) and Statkraft (30%). Statoil holds the responsibility as operator for both the construction and the operational phase. With an overall capacity of 402 MW Dudgeon will provide clean power to more than 410,000 UK households. "We are proud to convince more and more customers about the advantages of our 6-MW-offshore machine", said Dr. Markus Tacke, CEO of the Wind Power Division of Siemens Energy. "With Dudgeon we extend our project pipeline for this new turbine. This gives us the opportunity to further ramp up production capacity, which is a precondition to bring down the costs for offshore wind." Wind power and energy service are part of Siemens' Environmental Portfolio. Around 43 percent of its total revenue stems from green products and solutions. That makes Siemens one of the world¡¦s leading providers of eco-friendly technology. 67 Siemens D6 wind turbines ordered for Dudgeon offshore wind power plant The SWT-6.0-154 wind turbines are rated at 6 megawatts (MW) each and equipped with a 154-meter rotor.
