FARMINGDALE, N.Y. and MARKHAM, Ontario, Jan. 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Robocom Systems International announced today the release of the latest version of the industry-leading wholesale distribution ERP system, Next Generation Software. Next Generation 7.1 now runs in Microsoft Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise Operating System with SQL Server 2008 R2 or 2012 database in addition to the IBM AIX operating system. The first customer to launch version 7.1 is Power In Motion of Fairfield, New Jersey. "I'm very pleased with the Windows platform," said Vince Albora, President of Power In Motion. "We needed a new server and we wanted to keep the server in-house. Migrating to the Next Generation Windows platform turned out to be a very cost effective choice for us. We have been running Next Generation since 1992. In all that time we have been through many upgrades with software as well as hardware. We are very excited about this latest upgrade as it offers us many opportunities to conduct business with an eye towards the future." "This is a major step forward for Next Generation," said Fred Radcliffe, President of Robocom Systems. "The Windows platform reduces the server cost, has high performance, handles heavy transaction loads and provides access to many more third party tools for E-Commerce and Internet connectivity. Next Generation 7.1 is now Robocom's leading solution for food, industrial, electronic and general product wholesale distribution companies." "Next Generation offers a broad range of modules and functions, all aimed at the wholesale distribution marketplace," said Richard Lempke, Senior Account and Product Manager for Next Generation. "The Windows migration strengthens the connection to the latest Web Portal, Business to Business, Field Order Entry modules, as well as simplifies the integration of Next Generation Software to any potential 3rd party product our clients may require." Existing customers are excited about this move and are making plans to switch from older versions of Next Generation.
