Fortune Release: Baosteel Continued to be Elected as Most Admired Company in Global Metal Industry

U.S. Fortune magazine released on Feb.19 2015 edition ranking list of top 50 global most admired enterprises. Baosteel was reelected as most admired company in metal industry and ranked the seventh. Compared with the annual “Fortune Global 500” which takes operating revenue as sole ranking criterion, the assessment of “top 50 global most admired enterprises” places more emphasis on balanced capacity of enterprise innovation, quality management, social responsibility, financial health, long-term investment value, global competitiveness, etc.. Fortune magazine investigated 4104 senior managers, board members and securities analysts and asked them to separately list their most admired companies. Fortune “global most admired companies” is authoritative ranking list representing global reputation of enterprises, and it also includes besides the all-star list ranking list of most admired companies in over 50 industries. In 2014, the Chinese iron and steel industry had stepped into severe market winter of “high output, low price, high costs, and low economic benefits”. In coping with complex domestic and overseas economic conditions and serious market challenge, Baosteel continued to keep best management performance in the industry and was ranked 211 in Fortune Global 500 for consecutive eleven years, an 11-level upward movement compared with the last year; Baosteel continued to be listed as most admired company; the world’s three largest credit rating agencies continued to grant best credit rating to Baosteel among global comprehensive iron and steel enterprises.
