Schaeffler and Porsche before dress rehearsal for Le Mans

Next weekend has special significance for Porsche and Schaeffler, as the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) round at Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) is regarded as the final ‘dress rehearsal’ for the legendary Le Mans 24 Hours to be held on June 13 and 14. At Spa, Porsche is putting a third 919 Hybrid on the grid to optimally prepare for the season’s pinnacle event. In addition, the German Formula One driver Nico Hülkenberg will be making his racing debut in a Porsche sports car at Spa. Schaeffler is entering the 2015 WEC season as a Porsche partner again, which means that, as before, the company will be actively involved in the world’s toughest motorsports test lab. After finishing the Silverstone season opener as the runners-up, the driver squad is now set on upping the ante. The six-hour race in the Belgian Ardennes starts on Saturday at 14.30 as round two in a total of eight.
