Extreme trail use can be hard on factory JK Wrangler Dana 30 and Dana 44 axle housings. G2 Axle & Gear has developed a new line of axle housings and assemblies to handle the heavy loads that would normally bend a stock housing.
The G2 CORE Dana 44 Axle Housings are engineered to be a direct replacement for the stock Dana 30 or Dana 44. They feature heavy duty forged inner C-ends and thick 3 inch X .250 inch wall DOM tubing to virtually eliminate bending problems. All brackets are designed around stock mounting points and are laser cut and CNC-formed from 3/8 inch steel. All factory axle weak points have been gusseted and reinforced to prevent damage to the brackets.
G2 gave the CORE 44s a unique adjuster nut system to easily set backlash and carrier bearing preload. Other features include heavy duty forged bearing caps, extra ribbing for additional strength and protection, cast spring buckets to prevent collapsing, integral skid plates on lower control arm mounts, and a UV-stable black powdercoat finish.
The CORE 44 axle housings accept stock Dana 44 ring and pinions, axle shafts, factory JK Tru-Lok lockers, and conventional aftermarket lockers. You can also get CORE 44s as a complete front or rear axle assembly with these components:
30-, 32-, or 35-spline axle shafts
Choice of 4.56, 4.88, 5.13, or 5.38 ratio ring and pinion gears
• Choice of Tru-Trac, Auburn ECTED, ARB, E-Locker, or Detroit Locker differentials
