Orsha machine-tool factory about to deliver first special order to Russian KamAZ

VITEBSK, 5 June (BelTA) – The Orsha-based machine-tool factory Krasny Borets is preparing for delivery to Russia's Tatarstan the first machine-tool made to the special order of OAO KamAZ. The delivery is expected to begin long-term partnership, BelTA learned from Vyacheslav Bushin, Deputy Director for Marketing and Sales of the Orsha machine-tool factory.
According to the source, the machine-tool is rather complicated and is designed to process specific details. It represents state-of-the-art in machine-tool production. Apart from that, the Belarusian company is proud to fulfill the first order submitted by OAO KamAZ. The company spent about seven months to design, make and prepare the machine tool for shipping. One of these days the machine tool will be sent on its way to Tatarstan where KamAZ' main manufacturing facilities are located. “Those, who need custom-made equipment, choose our company. This is why we have discussed consequent cooperation with KamAZ management and they have confirmed the intention to use our services for the next few years when they need the equipment that we can make,” explained Vyacheslav Bushin.
The executive did not specify the price of the contract but mentioned it is nearly ten times as much as the price for another omnimill versatile machine that the Belarusian company intends to ship to the Pskov-based company Poliplast. The relevant contract was signed on 4 June. “The preliminary agreement was reached during a recent expo in Moscow. Soon after that Pskov Oblast Governor Andrei Turchak visited our factory. The visit made this line of cooperation stronger,” said Vyacheslav Bushin. At present this year's order portfolio includes three positions worth a total of $300,000 for companies located in Pskov and the oblast.
According to the source, the Russian market accounts for roughly 70% of the Belarusian company's export. In the last few years the company has been specializing in offering a wide choice of grinding equipment made to order for carrying out specific operations in small-batch production, standard batch production and large-scale batch production. The main customers in Belarus, CIS and non-CIS states (Germany, Poland, Turkey) are automobile and tractor enterprises, aviation enterprises, defense industries, and instrument-making enterprises.
The public joint-stock company (OAO) Machine-Tool Factory Krasny Borets is part of the Belarusian machine-tool holding company Belstankoinstrument, which is the largest industrial group in the Eurasian Economic Union that specializes in making machine tools. In 2014 the Orsha-based company was recognized as the country's best exporter. The title was awarded on the basis of the sum of four factors: export/import volume, growth dynamics in relation to past periods, the number of products on offer, the number of countries as business partners.
