Schaeffler and Porsche tackle toughest test in motorsports

A marathon twice around the clock: Schaeffler and Porsche will again be tackling the toughest test in motorsports next weekend. More than 200,000 spectators lining the circuit and millions of TV viewers will be watching the 83rd running of the Le Mans 24 Hours live. Last year, Porsche, after 16 years, celebrated its comeback in the top LMP1 category with two Porsche 919 Hybrid. This year, even three race cars will be on the grid. For Schaeffler, the cooperation with Porsche provides an ideal platform. The extreme demands in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) perfectly fit the qualities that Schaeffler defines for its production technologies as well. For decades, the partners have been closely working together – in motorsports and in production. As far back as in 1948, the 356 model – the first production sports car of the Swabian brand – was equipped with innovative needle bearings from Schaeffler.
