Baosteel Passed the Certification of India IBR “Well-known Factory”

A few days ago, a letter from India made the employees of Baosteel Manufacturing Management Department Standard Room excited for a long time. Because the have waited for exact four years for the three certificates of IBR “Well-known factory” of the seamless steel pipe (including the precision steel pipe), heavy plate and billet products used for the boiler enclosed in the envelope. These certificates are issued by India central boiler Bureau (CBB).
IBR is the boiler specifications formulated by India central boiler Bureau (CBB). IBR“well-known factory” certification shall be conducive to the manufacturer’s production organization on the site, shortening the production cycle and reducing the third party’s inspection fees. And at the same time, it shall improve the credibility and competitiveness of the enterprise in the India market.
While, it is very difficult to obtain IBR certification. For example in 2011, during the course that Baosteel provided India with the first lot of the seamless steel pipe used for boilers, the miscellaneous and complicated inspection of the third party and long-time delivery cycle directly affected the normal production organization. For this reason, Baosteel organized the relevant personnels to prepare for IBR certification work. But there is no service agency authorized in China for IBR certification work and the relevant certification contact way, certification plan and rules are not clear. The specific certification flow and organization procedure are very general.
In order to obtain IBR certification early and shorten the delivery cycle, Baosteel actively and initiatively contacted CBB and repeatedly modified the relevant certification documents according to the requirements. In view of the difficult problem of the requirements of providing the physical material for inspection, Baosteel Manufacturing Management Department took the lead to coordinate all the parties to overcome the adverse influence such as rolling mill maintenance etc., successfully completed the flow such as the temporary sampling and on-site inspection etc. and finally made sure that all the certification requirements reached the standard before the formal review of CBB.
