JTEKT restructures its Bearing activities in France

On 28 May 2015, the French administration approved the Social Plan submitted by Koyo Bearings Vierzon Maromme SAS, a French subsidiary of the JTEKT group specialising in the manufacture of needle roller bearings.
This plan comprises two actions:
The transfer of all activity from the Moult (Normandy) factory to Vierzon (central France)
Take-over of the activities of the Colmar office (Alsace) by other sites in the group, notably Vierzon, Irigny (Rhone) and Argenteuil (Paris)
The factory in Moult, with 62 full-time staff, produces needle roller bearings in medium and small volumes for various industrial markets, in particular Aerospace, and serves numerous market leading companies in these sectors.
The site in Colmar, with 44 employees, includes the activities of engineering and other services which support all sites in Europe of the bearing division.
The project allows 65 of the 106 jobs to be saved, and will safeguard the company’s sites in Vierzon and Maromme by enhancing their competitiveness. In particular, consolidation of the production of bearings for industrial and aerospace applications in Vierzon will deliver important synergies and a simplification of the manufacturing process.
Opportunities for redeployment and financial support will be provided to those whose jobs are eliminated. This reorganisation will start in the next days, and be completed by the end of 2015.
