International technology forum in Belarusian Zhlobin on 30 June
GOMEL, 26 June (BelTA) – Zhlobin will host the international technology forum on cooperation between Belarusian Metallurgical Holding Company (BMС) and businessmen from the German federal state of Saxony on 30 June, BelTA learned from BMС spokesperson Alexander Olesik.
Partaking in the event will be representatives of almost 30 companies, including some 15 German ones. The decision to hold the event was made in May 2015 during the visit of Saxony plenipotentiary economic representative to Russia Manfred Liebl to Belarusian Steel Works (BMZ trademark). The parties started discussing the opportunities for bilateral cooperation after the negotiations at the industrial expo in Leipzig in February 2015. Belarusian Steel Works took part in that expo.
The program of the forum in Zhlobin features presentations of Belarusian and German enterprises. The participants of the event will discuss the cooperation potential. For example, Kobrin Machine Tool Works SITOMO will present three projects: one project to produce vehicle parts from bar stock for the European Union market, second – to manufacture springs for Belarusian machine-building factories, and third – to upgrade the facilities producing bench work tools.
Minsk Bearing Plant will also try to draw the attention of foreign businessmen to its project to jointly produce ball bearings and to set up a joint trading enterprise, and some other projects.
BMС already closely cooperates with some companies located in Saxony. The company Linde that is the largest manufacturer of equipment for the production of industrial gases including oxygen. The German company supplied air-separation compressors for gas-oxygen stations No.2 and No.3 that will go on stream in the near future.
Founded in 1984, the public joint-stock company (OAO) Belarusian Steel Works is the management company of Belarusian Metallurgical Holding Company. The enterprise specializes in cast bars, profiled iron, rolled steel, reinforcing bars, metal cord, wire for high-pressure hoses and other kinds of wire. BMZ exports over 80% of the output.
