Bearings specialist Schaeffler Australia has launched a new range of radial insert ball bearing and housing units designed for easy mounting and high cost-efficiency in challenging applications.
The robust FAG Black Series bearings from Schaeffler Australia offer easy mounting, smooth running, enhanced anti-corrosion protection and high reliability to allow particularly economical bearing arrangements. The DUROTECT B coating on the bearings provides improved anti-corrosion protection, making the bearing units ideal for challenging operating conditions with benefits including reduced maintenance and time and cost savings for the operators.
The FAG Black Series bearings are recommended for medium-to-high load applications including power transmission, conveying, materials handling, metals and steel; mining and energy, construction and agricultural, textile, paper, packaging and woodworking machinery; and pumps and process industry exposed to wet conditions, such as food and beverage, water and waste water, and oil and gas processing plants.
The FAG Black Series bearings are interchangeable according to JIS; offer economical, quiet and energy efficient operation; provide long grease service life with low heat generation; are reliable and robust with advanced anti-corrosive protection; and have high load carrying capability, long operating life, and extended maintenance intervals.
The FAG Black Series ball bearing units are supplied with both metric and inch bore diameters. The range of one pillow block housing unit as well as two bolt and four bolt flange units is presently being expanded with new housing options.
The dimensions of FAG housings, made from flake graphite cast iron and featuring a primer paint coating, conform to JIS B 1559. These single piece cast housings can support moderate to high radial and axial loads.
Key features of FAG Black Series also include radial insert ball bearings based on ball bearing series 62; black oxide coated rings improving corrosion resistance; one-piece seal with moulded seal lip; polyamide cage with optimised friction behaviour; factory lubricated units supplied with lubrication nipple for re-lubrication; and two set screws offset by 120 degrees.
