To make one of these wind batteries yourself, just download the 3D files from Thingiverse and load them into a compatible 3D printer. You’ll also need some small ball bearings to keep all the gears moving smoothly. It consists of more than a dozen individual files so you can make sure each one is printed correctly. The fan component can be swapped out for anything, like a non-printed motor to generate real power. If you want to get really ambitious, you might even want to add some mass to the battery weight for added torque and thus more power generation.
