Xiwang Special Steel and IMR are to jointly develop high-speed rail axles

Xiwang Special Steel Company Limited. signed an research and development collaboration agreeemtn with Institute of Metal Research Chinese Academy of Sciences (IMR) and a high-speed rail company in Shanxi on the cooperation of high-speed rail axles. The agreement included the development of high-speed rail axle forging stock, the development of high-speed rail axle forging, heat treatment, and processing. Shandong Xiwang Special Steel Company Limited will serve as the industrial base of axle forging stock and the company will be responsible for the trail production and manufacturing of axle forging stock together with IMR, providing the subsequent forging, heat treatment, and processing of axle forging stock for the Shanxi high-speed rail company. Therefore, Shandong Xiwang Special Steel Company Limited and IMR will share the technological achievements of axle forging stock industrialization.
