Senvion signs order for 62 MW of wind power in the UK
Senvion will provide 21 Senvion MM82 and nine Senvion MM92
Senvion will provide 21 of its MM82 wind turbines and nine of its MM92 turbines to the Brockloch Rig Wind Farm in the UK.
Senvion, one of the world’s biggest wind turbine manufacturers, has signed its first UK contract with renewable-energy consultant, Fred. Olsen Renewables Ltd.
As per the agreement, Senvion will supply 30 of its MM series turbines to the Brockloch Rig Wind Farm, located in the hills above Carsphairn Forest, some nine kilometers north of Carsphairn in Dumfries and Galloway.
The UK wind farm will have a total rated output of 61.5 MW and will produce enough electricity to power more than 33,000 homes each year. Senvion will provide 21 Senvion MM82 and nine Senvion MM92. The first turbine installations are scheduled for summer 2016.

David Brunt, CEO, Fred. Olsen Renewables added: “We have been involved with Brockloch Rig Wind Farm from the start, through site selection, planning, and construction, in line with our strategy to manage the full lifecycle. It is a key site in our UK portfolio which opens up a new geographical area for us and we are pleased that things are progressing well as we now move towards construction. This will be our first project with Senvion in the UK. They were selected following a competitive process and wee now look forward to working with the Senvion team in delivering this key project.”
