December 28 (SeeNews) - Denmark’s Vestas Wind Systems A/S (CPH:VWS) said on Thursday it has won a 198-MW wind turbine supply order for the Bluestem project in the US state of Oklahoma. The contract was awarded to Vestas by developer RES America Construction Inc, which is a unit of UK’s Renewable Energy Systems Ltd, also known as RES Group. The value of the deal was not mentioned. Under the terms of the contract, Vestas will supply 60 pieces of its V117-3.3 MW turbines. Deliveries are scheduled to start during the third quarter of 2016, with commissioning planned for the final quarter of that year. The contract also includes a five-year Active Output Management 4000 service agreement. Vestas noted its total year-to-date announced order intake now amounts to 7,726 MW. In late November, the company said it had received a firm and unconditional order to supply turbines for a 200-MW development in the same US state, but did not disclose the name of the project. Last week, the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) said that the country's installed wind power capacity had surpassed 70 GW in November. The US now has over 50,000 wind turbines operating across 40 states and Puerto Rico.
