On 30th, November, it was filled with the atmosphere of excitement and laughter beside the newly-built hot-dip galvanizing line of Baosteel Cold Rolling Plant 2030 unit. One roll of hot-dip galvanizing steel coil with the diameter of about 1.8 meters was slowly unloaded from the line and put on a big red flower, which indicated that the hot load test run of the newly-built hot-dip galvanizing line of Baosteel 2030 unit was successful. This production unit which was once color coating base plate has been successfully updated to "2.0 edition" up to now and it is the first domestic special production line for the hot-dip galvanizing thick materials, high strength steel and advanced coating.
In recent years, the ultra-high strength steel of the car plate has developed rapidly and the market demand has become the explosive growth situation. Baosteel keenly captured the market opportunity and the hot-dip galvanizing line of 2030 unit which had been running for 20 years retired with honor. In the original place , one ultra-high strength steel line of car plate has been newly built and it has been oriented to the high-end car plate market. The products are mainly thick materials, high strength and ultra-high strength steel GI car plate, with hot-dip galvanizing advanced coating products. It shall strengthen the advantage of the hot-dip galvanizing field of the ultra-high steel of Baosteel car plate, strengthen the international competitiveness of Baosteel car plate and enhance the "cold-fighting ability" in the "deep winter" of the market. In March last year, the revamping project of the hot-dip galvanizing line of 2030 unit formally started.
Under the circumstance that there is no model line throughout the world, many aspects of the newly-built hot-dip galvanizing line has embodied the first-class creative thinking and independent innovation capability within Baosteel industry. Relying on the design thinking of "advanced technology, first-class products , less investment and high efficiency", Baosteel independently chooses the technical pass and process path, independently integrates the line equipment and independently completes the line commissioning. Faced with the world-class difficult problem that the poorer plating ability of GI of the ultra-high strength steel, Baosteel cold rolling plant adopts the process solution of independent integration depending on the production experience and test of many years for the ultra-high strength steel. In order to make sure of more reflexible switch and higher production efficiency in the production of the line, the project revamping team formulated the configuration solution of "double zin pot switch". The revamping team practiced the concept of "wise manufacturing" and configured the robots for baling, slag taking, sampling and labeling etc.on the whole line. There is high degree of automatic operation.
One continuous annealing line of normal production within the same bay of the plant is close to the revamping project site of the hot-dip galvanizing line and the average distance between the equipment foundations of the two lines is about more than 2 meters and there is only 1 meter at the narrowest place. It is obviously difficult to put tow lines within such crowded room. To ensure that the production of the continuous annealing line shall not be affected, the revamping team conduct the fine construction operation. Especially for the "deep foundation pit", the team has adopted the various technical protection measures to overcome the effect, created the miracle of "never stopping" of the continuous annealing line and also accumulated the precious experience for the "updating and revamping" project in which Baosteel shall conduct production and construction at the same time.
For a long time, Baosteeo has regarded the car plate as one of the strategic products and the newly-built hot-dip galvanizing line is the step made by Baosteel to speed up reform and innovation as well as transformation and development. The newly-built line shall be complementary with other cold rolling high-strength steel line of Baosteel about the varieties and specifications of the car plate to meet the car steel demand of different levels, different specifications and different varieties, which shall make the products division and production capacity division of all the hot-dip galvanizing lines more economical and reasonable, realize the maximum efficiency and make more contribution for promoting the structural adjustment and enhancing the competitiveness of Baosteel products.
