CMIA offers Special technical programmes

Aurangabad: The Chamber of Marathwada Industries and Agriculture (CMIA) and Marathwada Auto Cluster (MAC) has organised a two-day technical training programme from Tuesday in association with renowned training institutes like Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers' Association (IMTMA) and San Techno Mentors from Pune. The on-of-a-kind highly specialised workshops are the first of a series to be organised. MAC CEO Bharat Gangakhedkar said, "Spindle maintenance requires a thorough knowledge of bearing application, lubrication, assembly tools and techniques. Keeping this in view, the IMTMA organized the two-day programme on 'Spindle Maintenance for Metal Cutting and Industrial Machinery' at MAC Waluj MIDC, in Aurangabad." Greaves Cotton CEO, Anil Singh Makhloga inaugurated the workshop, while vice president of NRB Bearings, Hemant Jog will be holding the valedictory session. CMAI president Ashish Garde, said, "The training programme focused on bearing types and their application in metal working and industrial machinery, bearing lubrication systems, spindle failure and reconditioning, tools, tackles and assembly techniques, and testing of assembled spindle units. The programme also focused on bearing failure, bearing nomenclature and equivalent selection, spindle bearing preloading, preventive maintenance of spindles, and why spindles fail." Garde added that this is a joint initiative by CMIA and MAC to host technical training programmes, conducted by IMTMA and San Techno Mentors. "This is a step towards the skill development initiative, where 20 participants from local industry participated," he said. "Such programmes are being conducted by IMTMA and San Techno Mentors in their training centres at Pune, Bangalore, Gurgaon and Chennai. Henceforth, these programmes will be conducted at Aurangabad which will help save training cost of many of industries from here," he said. He added that companies from all over India send their employees to these faraway training destinations to enhance their skills. "These programs stress on hands-on training and are delivered by subject matter experts from industries," he said. Technicians maintaining them typically require special diagnostic tools and intense technical training. Often component deviations can be traced to faulty spindles. Spindle maintenance requires a thorough knowledge of bearing application, lubrication, assembly tools and techniques. Henceforth, these programmes will be conducted at Aurangabad which will help save training cost of many industries from Aurangabad, said Gangakhedkar. These programs emphasize on hands on training and are delivered by subject matter experts from industries, he said. Industry case studies are discussed enabling the participants to co relate the learning with their industry applications, he added saying that participants go back with clear take away and implement key learning in their industry to realize improvements in productivity and quality.
