Norvento has completed 10 turbine installations in the UK, with a further nine turbines consented and under construction. Medium-scale wind turbine manufacturer Norvento has announced the successful completion of 10 new turbine installations throughout the UK in the first half of 2016. A healthy order pipeline for the nED100 100-kW turbines has seen a further two sites enter construction in the same period, with another seven fully consented turbine sites across Scotland and Wales awaiting installation in the second half of the year, weather permitting. This new construction activity is an indication of the ongoing ability of the medium wind sector to support the ambitions of UK landowners and high-energy commercial users as they look to become energy independent, diversify revenue streams, meet sustainability targets, and unlock substantial electricity cost savings. For Norvento, the encouraging rate of new installations illustrates not only the expertise of the firm’s in-house and external distributor development teams in bringing projects through planning to fruition, but also a wider market recognition of the unique advantages of Norvento’s nED100 technology in a low-subsidy environment. Since its launch in 2013, the nED100 model has continued to set industry-wide standards for reliability, performance and visual, noise, and grid impacts. These factors have combined to ensure that the cost of on-site wind energy generation remains as low as possible, in order to maximise the financial benefit to the turbine owner or landowner. “Installing an on-site Norvento wind turbine has so far proven to be a really solid investment,” said Gerwyn Davies of Rhosfach, Wales. “Norvento performed brilliantly and I’m already seeing the positive impact of generating energy on site on my energy bills – and that’s only going to increase in the long-term as electricity prices continue to rise over the coming months and years.” From Q1 2017 a new model of the turbine will be available to the market, which builds on these key advantages with incremental cost-saving and performance-boosting improvements to the generator, nacelle, blades and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) access. In conjunction with the development of the existing nine-turbine pipeline, Norvento is currently exhibiting the new turbine model to landowners and high-energy users across the UK. The machine was officially unveiled at the All Energy 2016 event in Glasgow last month and displayed at the Royal Highland Show in Edinburgh. “We’re constantly working to refine our product line and service offering to ensure that we’re able to maximize the impact of becoming energy independent for a diverse range of landowners and industrial users across the UK, that have high levels of energy consumption,” said Ivo Arnús, Director of UK Business Development, Norvento. “Ultimately, that’s one of the key factors behind the recent build-out of our pipeline – and with the new turbine becoming available early next year, we’re expecting to sustain this momentum, even as the Feed-in Tariff is removed.”
