With more than 2,300 patents filed in 2016 alone, Schaeffler ranks among Germany’s most innovative technology groups. This ingenuity is reflected in its press and marketing activities as well for which Schaeffler has now won recognition in three prestigious competitions within a short space of time. Schaeffler’s technology magazine “tomorrow” received accolades in both the German Brand Award and the BCM Award competitions, its “Trailblazers” video production featuring the Bio-Hybrid in the leading role on wheels won at the Deauville Green Awards in France. The sixth edition of the Deauville Green Awards reported record participation. 370 films had competed for one of the coveted main awards in the environmentally oriented film festival in France. The “Trailblazers” entry produced for Schaeffler by Stereoscreen Audio Visual Productions competed in the “Spot – Transport and Eco-Mobility” category in which it was recognized with the “Golden Green Award.” How are we going to live in the future, how are we going to move from A to B? One approach to mobility for tomorrow is Schaeffler’s pioneering Bio-Hybrid. Filmmaker Tim Hahne captured the four-wheel pedelec on trips through various European metropolises. The film crew that accompanied him was traveling through the cities on bicycles some of the time – not only to emphasize the film’s “green” philosophy, but also because it was simply the fastest means of urban transportation. The concept, content, execution and message of the one-and-a-half-minute video clip convinced the jury to select “Trailblazers” as the winner. “tomorrow“ won triple recognition in Berlin at the end of June. At the German Brand Awards, Schaeffler’s technology magazine received a “special mention” for “outstanding branding.” At the BCM Awards of the Content Marketing Forum moderated by Dr. Hajo Schumacher, the expert jury recognized the publication with two Silver awards. The magazine with over 100 pages and worldwide circulation convinced the judges in both the “B2B Print Magazine” and the “International Communication” special award categories. “tomorrow” has been produced since 2015 in collaboration with the Hamburg-based media agency Speedpool and previously won three publication awards in 2016. To date, seven issues have been published in which specialist authors take a look at a focus topic from various perspectives. The issue that has now won three awards is dedicated to digitalization. The next issue will be published in September on the occasion of the Frankfurt International Motor Show (IAA). “Schaeffler’s employees experience how exciting, multi-faceted and fascinating technology can be in their work day in day out,” said Jörg Walz, Vice President Communications and Marketing Automotive and editor-in-chief of “tomorrow.” “Our aim is to communicate exactly this spirit via ‘tomorrow,’ not only explaining technology, but turning it into an adventure. The fact that the magazine looks far beyond our own business segments is a major key to its success. The recognition ‘tomorrow’ has won by media and marketing experts reflects the high editorial expertise behind this publication as well as the positive response by a growing readership around the globe.”
