The International Automotive Task Force (IATF) is a specialized agency established in 1996 by major automotive manufacturers and associations around the world. On the basis of the combination with the ISO9001:2000 standard, the ISO/TS16949:2002 specification was developed under the approval of ISO/TC176. Updated in 2009 to: ISO/TS16949:2009. The latest standard currently implemented is: IATF16949:2016. Members of the IATF include the International Organization for Standardization Quality Management and Quality Assurance Technical Committee (ISO/TC176), the Italian Automobile Manufacturers Association (ANFIA), the French Automobile Manufacturers Council (CCFA) and the Automotive Equipment Industry Alliance (FIEV), the German Automotive Industry Association. (VDA), car manufacturers such as BMW, Chrysler, Fiat, Ford, General Motors, Renault and Volkswagen.
