Taizhou City--The Largest Industrial Base of Bearing in China

Taizhou located in the middle coastal area of Zhejiang province, China. Bearing industry have been existed and developed here for more than 10 years. They have made great achievement on enlarging scale of bearing industry, adjustment for products and enterprise mix. Now bearing industry in Taizhou has become the main force of Taizhou's export.
So far there are over 50 bearing manufacturers in Taizhou; about 5000 person engaged in bearing industry; fixed assets of the bearing industry have reached RMB300 million. In 1998, sales of Taizhou's bearing industry hit RMB500 million, up 20% from 1997; sales of export hit $50 million, up 30% from 1997; yearly bearing output reached 80 million sets, up 30% from 1997.
The outstanding bearing enterprises' yearly output can over 10 million sets. They are Guotai, Yaojiang, Huanyu and Huangyan bearing Co.,Ltd. Taizhou has become one of China's largest bearing bases for manufacturing and export. Taizhou Guotai Bearing Co.,Ltd has been regarded as the largest medium and small-sized bearing manufacturer; Huanyu Bearing Co.,Ltd has become the largest manufacturing base of motor bearings for motorbike.
Taizhou's bearing industry can be characterized by the following: parallel increase of total industrial production value and bearing output, increasing export, decreasing export price, fierce competition and decreasing profit. The major bearings for export are common medium and small sized bearing and this has become a trend.
Market analysis of Taizhou: stable demand from domestic market, increasing overseas demand. In general the market are optimistic. There are 95 percent bearing producted for export and the importers are mainly USA, Europe, South America and Asia companies.
Innovation of Taizhou bearing industry: holding the market oriented idea, Taizhou bearing industry invested a lot on new products research and equipment upgrade. The crank shaft bearing developed by Taizhou Huanyu Bearing Co.,Ltd have been collected in national torch program.
Cooperation with overseas company: The joint venture Taizhou Guotai Bearing Co.,Ltd already have their sales office in HongKong, USA etc.
Orientation of Taizhou bearing industry: high precision, quiet, light and miniature bearing will be the focus of later development. pay more attention on quiet motor bearing's research and technology of improving sealing performance.
