New location offers modern working environment in line with the "Schaeffler New Work Standard"

Ten-year lease for new headquarters at Frankfurt Airport

Agile, flexible and digital collaboration from July 2022 on around 6,000 square meters of office space

The automotive and industrial supplier Schaeffler is a leading provider of repair solutions and services in the automotive aftermarket. Schaeffler's Automotive Aftermarket division is responsible for this business and makes a significant contribution to the overall success of Schaeffler AG. To strengthen the global headquarters of the Automotive Aftermarket division and make it fit for the future, the company signed a lease for the new division headquarters in Frankfurt's Gateway Gardens district. The new locations on De Saint-Exupéry-Strasse is located in close proximity to Frankfurt Airport. The lease agreement runs for ten years.

"With the relocation of our headquarters from the current Langen site to the Gateway Gardens district of Frankfurt, we are strengthening our global Automotive Aftermarket headquarters and focusing on modern working environments. With the ‛Schaeffler New Work Standard‛, we are adapting to the new requirements of a changing working world and offering room for agile, flexible and digital collaboration," emphasizes Michael Söding, CEO Automotive Aftermarket at Schaeffler.

Exchange, open communication and a constructive feedback culture
"New Work is not a room concept, it is a new working philosophy," explains David Rottstedt, who is responsible for the design of the new Automotive Aftermarket headquarters. On around 6,000 square meters of office space, the New Work concept is breaking away from outdated structures. The workplace of the future will be more flexible, open and digital. Rottstedt continues: "This new working environment allows employees to interact flexibly and quickly. Tasks are approached in an agile manner and room for new ideas is being created. This new communication basis will be decisive for the future success of our company."

New Work is transforming the working environment into an activity-based campus. Spread over three floors, the new headquarters offer space for teamwork, project rooms, think tanks, meeting rooms, so-called "Gravity Points" (open collaboration areas with a coffee kitchen), and standard workplaces. With a planned average presence rate of 60 percent, approximately 240 of these standard workplaces will be available to employees in the future. The parking garage provides just as many parking spaces – including charging stations for e-vehicles.

"Until the scheduled move in July 2022, we will work out the design of the floor space. That means the complete interior design, the selection and ordering of furniture, and the planning of IT and media technology," adds Rottstedt. The detailed use of the spaces and the design of the project rooms will be developed in the upcoming months and implemented according to the requirements of the employees.
