2023 April lastest news: 200 seconds! ZYS assisted the successful long-distance test run of China 80-ton reusable liquid oxygen methane engine
On February 23, the first 200 second long range test run of the 80 ton reusable liquid oxygen methane engine independently developed by the Sixth Academy of China Aerospace Science and Technology Group under rated conditions was successfully completed, marking a major step forward for China's space launch vehicle engine to be reusable. The Low temperature bearings for the engine turbopump was developed and matched by ZYS.
The 80 ton liquid oxygen methane engine is an engine designed with the development goals of reuse, low cost, and high performance. It has the ability to change thrust over a wide range, start multiple times, reuse, fault diagnosis, and rapid testing. The overall performance, reusability, and reliability of the engine have been greatly improved.
This puts forward higher requirements for the performance of bearings such as multiple starts and stops, and long service life. The ZYS R&D team conducted research on basic scientific issues such as bearing dynamics and motion simulation under non-stationary operating conditions during the reuse process of bearings, as well as the characteristics of high agitation and shear flow solid thermal coupling of ultra-low temperature and high-speed bearing fluids, in response to the characteristics of bearing reuse. They successfully solved key technologies such as multiple start-stop, design and experimental verification of long-life ultra-low temperature bearings. This ensures the stability and good condition of all systems during the test run, and the test run has achieved a complete success.
