China Railway Construction Heavy Industry obtains patent for new spindle bearing of roadheader to improve space utilization efficiency

China Railway Construction Heavy Industry Group Co., Ltd. submitted a patent application for "Tunnel Boring Machine Spindle Bearing and Tunnel Boring Machine" in June 2024 (publication number: CN202410733033.0).

The patent aims to improve space utilization efficiency by optimizing the design of the spindle bearing of the tunnel boring machine. Specifically, this innovative design includes main components such as an inner ring, an outer ring, a cage and a roller. The outer ring includes a first retaining ring, a first retaining edge and a second retaining edge, which extend radially inward along the first retaining ring. The inner ring is composed of a first side wall and a second side wall, and together with the first retaining edge and the first retaining ring of the outer ring, an installation space is formed. The main push retainer in the retainer is installed in this space, which is composed of a second retaining ring and a third retaining ring, wherein the third retaining ring surrounds the second retaining ring and has a first extension edge extending in the axial direction. In addition, another space is formed between the outer surface of the inner ring and the inner surface of the first retaining ring to accommodate the first extension edge of the third retaining ring.

This patented design is expected to further optimize the structure of the tunnel boring machine, achieve a more compact space layout, and thus improve overall performance.
