Xiangu Nitric Acid Plant First Set Fully Localized Renovation Project Put into Operation

On December 3, after 72 hours of continuous operation testing, the turbine-to-high-speed motor conversion project for the 150,000-ton/year nitric acid plant's four-in-one unit, undertaken by ShaanGu, successfully completed its first trial run, was put into operation smoothly, and reached full production capacity and standards. This marks a significant breakthrough in my country's technology for fully domestically produced high-speed motor drive systems in the field of nitric acid four-in-one units, demonstrating ShaanGu's core strength as a major national equipment manufacturer in high-end equipment technology innovation.

Against the backdrop of the deepening implementation of the "dual-carbon" strategy, users have raised the demand for "gasoline-to-electricity" conversions. However, what users need is not a simple modification, but a more technologically advanced and lower-cost direct-drive solution using a fully domestically produced high-speed motor. Faced with the challenge of having no precedent in China, ShaanGu rose to the challenge with technological confidence, pioneering a new breakthrough in domestic substitution technology.

As the first demonstration project of a fully domestically produced high-voltage variable frequency motor for "gasoline-to-electricity" conversion in my country's nitric acid industry, this project is technically challenging, has a tight conversion cycle, and complex system integration, shouldering the important mission of promoting the localization of key equipment and achieving a green and energy-saving transformation. From preliminary joint demonstrations and technical coordination to equipment manufacturing and on-site commissioning, Shaangu, together with users and other partners, has conducted more than 20 in-depth technical exchanges, tackling challenges one by one, such as critical speed matching, shaft torsional vibration calculation, and control system integration. A sales, technical, execution, and service team was quickly assembled to tackle these challenges. In the frigid -10 degrees Celsius weather, the ShaanGu team remained steadfast on the front lines, precisely completing critical tasks such as motor and inverter installation, unit alignment, and integrated commissioning of individual units and the system, ensuring the project's high-quality progress with their professional expertise.

Through tireless efforts, the ShaanGu team implemented user needs with concrete actions, not only successfully completing the first domestically produced high-speed motor direct-drive retrofit of a four-in-one nitric acid generator unit, but also helping the user reduce reliance on steam, achieving a double reduction in investment and operating costs, and simultaneously improving economic and environmental benefits.
