China Largest Single-Unit Capacity Pumped Storage Unit Enters Grid-Connection Debugging Phase

At 18:06 on December 10th, the circuit breaker of Unit 1 at the Tiantai Pumped Storage Power Station in Zhejiang Province was closed, and the unit successfully achieved its first synchronous grid connection with the power grid in pumping and phase-regulating operation. This marks the official entry of the largest single-unit capacity (425 MW) pumped storage unit in China into the grid-connected commissioning phase.

To ensure the smooth completion of the first grid connection commissioning, the Tiantai Pumped Storage Company, under the Three Gorges Construction Group, meticulously organized and coordinated the project, refined specific plans, clarified responsibilities, and assigned dedicated personnel to monitor key equipment and important procedures throughout the commissioning process, ensuring the smooth and controllable operation of the commissioning work. After the successful first grid connection, the on-site team worked continuously and achieved the first pumping of Unit 1 at 4:06 AM on December 11th. All indicators and parameters were excellent during operation.

At this crucial juncture of concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan, Tiantai Pumped Storage Company will collaborate with design, construction, supervision, and operation units to dedicate itself to the commissioning work with a highly responsible attitude. It will coordinate and allocate various resources to ensure the high-standard completion of over 30 test items, including load shedding, governor load, excitation load, operating condition switching, and primary frequency regulation. This will comprehensively verify the equipment installation quality, control logic, and overall performance, guaranteeing the timely commissioning of the unit and making a positive contribution to optimizing the energy structure of East my country and enhancing the grid's flexible adjustment capabilities.
