a. SKF becomes the main partner of Gothia Cup
SKF will be the main partner of the world's biggest soccer tournament for girls and boys, Gothia Cup, for 3 years from 2006.
When SKF looked for activities to celebrate its 100-year anniversary, Gothia Cup came up as a natural working partner.

b.SKF received order for the Barcelona metro
SKF has been awarded a contract from Alstom, compromising 2000 axleboxes equipped with tapered roller bearing units and 500 slewing bearings equipped with Vogel lubrication systems. This equipment is intended for the new Alstom METROPOLIS metro vehicles for Barcelona, Spain.
The engineering and manufacturing is based on an international SKF teamwork. SKF in France will be responsible for axleboxes and slewing bearings, the tapered roller bearings will be produced by SKF in Italy and the lubrication systems by SKF's Vogel company in Germany. SKF is the leading rolling bearing supplier to the world railway industry, providing a full assortment of products and services for all types of railway vehicles such as high speed vehicles, locomotives, multiple units, coaches, mass transit vehicles and freight cars.
