Automobile Price Slide Steadily since January

Based on the results from State Development & Reform Commission's monitoring center, both China-made and imported automobiles experienced a nationwide slight price slide in January. For China-made automobiles, the price declined at a smaller rate than last month. But the price was still 2.84% lower than that in last January. Automobile's type determined the price declining rate. Concerning commercial automobiles, its price decreased by 0.38%, 0.07% lower than last month. As subclasses, compact and average one's price were decreased by 0.53% and 0.42% respectively from last month; while SUV enjoyed a slight price increase of 0.15%. There were ups and downs in the prices among various passenger buses. Price of light bus increased by 0.17% while that of large ones decreased by 0.85% compared with last month. For cargo vehicles, price of light and medium ones increased by 4.79% and 0.42% respectively; however, heavy ones met a 1.47% price slide. Meanwhile, price of imported automobiles were also declined. In general, the price was 0.19% lower than the previous month, 1.95% lower compared with the same period last year. Imported commercial car's price increased by 0.79% from last month. In short, the price fluctuation is mainly cuased by holiday spending. During the Spring Festival Holiday, potential buyers had enouth time and car sellers provided additional promotion. So excessive demands increased the price of automobiles. Now, almost a month after the Spring Festival Holiday, the price of automobiles have been gradually back to normal level.
