Schaeffler keeps fingers crossed for Rockenfeller in home round

Mike Rockenfeller will be on the grid in his home round at the Nürburgring next weekend. Neuwied, the town in which Rocky was born, is just some 50 kilometers away from the tradition-steeped circuit. He used to live near the Nürburgring for many years and therefore knows the track like the back of his hand. The 31-year-old has finished DTM races in the Eifel on podium twice before – most recently as the runner-up last year. In 2015, he is aiming to up the ante in both races.

For Schaeffler, the Nürburgring has major importance as well. In addition to garage events hosted by Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket, in which garage pros from all over Germany test the innovations from the Schaeffler brands on the race track for their performance capabilities, the headquarters of Schaeffler Friction Products GmbH is located in Morbach, some 90 kilometers away from the circuit. The certified company is a major supplier of clutch linings and friction materials to industry.
