March 17 (SeeNews) - Indian wind turbine maker Suzlon (BOM:532667) said Thursday it has secured work on several wind projects with a combined capacity of 81.9 MW at home from both new and existing customers.

Part of the turnkey deals came from a number of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) from the domestic food and agro, textiles, chemical, real estate and engineering industry segments. At the same time, an Indian municipal sector investor placed a consecutive repeat order with Suzlon, as well. Some 90% of the customers have already purchased turbines from the firm, it pointed out.

The new contracts call for the company to develop, build, commission and provide dedicated life cycle asset management services for all of the wind parks. For them it will deliver and erect four of its 2.1-MW turbine models -- namely the S111 90m, S97 120m, S97 90m and the S95 90m -- across the states of Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Competition is due in fiscal 2017, according to the statement.

The manufacturer noted that over 75% of the consolidated order are for its newly launched S97 120m hybrid tower and S111 90m machines. The value of the contracts was not disclosed.
