Recently, Xu Lejiang-president of Baosteel Group Corporation led a team and successively visited Total Petroleum Company in France and Siemens Group in Germany. During the visit, Xu Lejiang respectively conducted talks with Ms. Anne Rocher-vice president of Total and Mr. Klaus Helmrich-director of Siemens, and respectively had a deep communication on strategic cooperation between the two sides.
During the talks, Xu Lejiang and Anne Rocher exchanged views on oil and steel industry situation, past cooperation between Total and Baosteel, and strategic cooperation in the future, etc. Total introduced the company operation, project situation and adopted measures on technical innovation, cost decreasing and benefit increasing, and she also emphasized that the company will still insist on the concept of production safety first under the market condition of low oil price. Baosteel introduced overall business situation of the company, R&D and marketing performance of energy related products, as well as measures taken for cost reduction for clients.
Xu Lejiang expressed respect for Total's insistence on safety production and emphasis on R&D, he also expressed that Baosteel has the capability to supply all series of iron and steel products, including steel for nuclear power and aircraft engine, and supply clients with comprehensive solution. Baosteel has full confidence in providing clients with most competitive and cost-effective products. Baosteel is willing to accept the strict system certification of Total and hopes to establish long-term strategic cooperation relation with Total and to be global comprehensive supplier of Total.
Anne Rocher thanked for the visit by Xu Lejiang and expressed that Total will conduct special promotion on the cooperation with Baosteel internally, prospect for cooperation between Baosteel and Total will be very broad in the future. Baosteel and Total also exchanged views on steel product EVI in petroleum industry and cooperation in related fields.

Xu Lejiang and Klaus Helmrich conducted deep communication on steel industry situation, intelligent manufacturing and deepening the strategic cooperation during the talks.
Xu Lejiang pointed out that the cooperation between Baosteel and Siemens has been more than 30 years since establishment of the plant of Baosteel, relationship between Baosteel and Siemens mainly focused on the product sale in the past, but present steel industry situation in China, Europe and even the whole wold is really severe and full of variables, so both Baosteel and Siemens shall make use of the strategic opportunity of German "Industry 4.0" and "Made in China 2025" in the Internet Age to jointly develop a new business model and promote the strategic cooperative partnership between Baosteel and Siemens to a new hight.
Xu Lejiang expressed that intelligent manufacturing system engineering is very large and complex, Baosteel hopes to build a comprehensive and open platform together with Siemens. The platform shall not exclude the global enterprise with other specialities, but create conditions for all excellent global enterprises to give play to their own advantages respectively in metallurgical , electric automation, detection and analysis, etc. Steel production capacity in China is more than 800 million tons with huge market potential, so it becomes even much more necessary to explore new manufacturing model and business model through cooperation between Baosteel and Siemens.
Klaus Helmrich expressed a warm welcome to the visit by Xu Lejiang and his team and pointed out that the work conducted by both working teams before several months has laid a solid foundation for signing of the cooperation agreement. Industry 4.0 brought both sides together, Siemens considered the Industry 4.0 cooperation as the new start and hoped to cooperate with Baosteel on more projects to continue on the road of mutual development resolutely. Siemens expressed agreement and appreciate on the suggestion of establishing new cooperative partnership between the two sides proposed by Xu Lejiang, and also expressed understanding toward Baosteel for introducing other excellent companies to involve in the platform construction, for advantages of Siemens is electrification, automation and digitization. Siemens is also willing to build such an open platform with Baosteel.
A lot of leaders attended the talks, such as Chu Shuangjie-deputy general manager of Baosteel, Lu Zhixin-general manager assistant of Baosteel, Ye Meng-chairman of the board of Ouyeel International, Dr.Jürgen Brandes-CEO of Process Industry and Drive Group of Siemens Group, Mr. Tim Dawidowsky-CEO of Siemens Large Drive Group and Mr.Eckard Eberle-CEO of Process Industry Business Division of Siemens Group, etc.
Chu Shuangjie also conducted discussion with senior executives of Siemens on purchasing cooperation of full series of steel and future cooperation framework. Both Siemens and Baosteel agreed regular communicate of raw material supply for the full series of products between the centralized purchasing team of Siemens and sales team of Baosteel, so as to expand the cooperation besides the silicon steel product and exploit the potential cooperation field. The two side also reached the cooperation intention in respect of regular technical communication, EVI and cooperation on the new oriented silicon steel product.
