Vestas announces Pueblo expansion
The company says it will add 108 new full-time jobs in Pueblo by October 1.
The total cost of the expansion is approximately $18.5 million. The city kicked in $2,484,000 from its half cent economic development tax as an incentive.
“The Pueblo community has been a perfect match for Vestas Towers, not only is this location close to our final customers with good rail and road ways, but the knowledgeable workforce here make us a great company for this community,” said Anthony Knopp, Vice President of Vestas Towers Americas, Inc., “These are sustainable jobs we are creating, we think the future for wind energy is bright. In 2015, wind energy accounted for about 25 percent of new energy installations globally. The cost of wind energy varies regionally, but it’s coming down across the board for wind and is basically in the same price range as coal and gas in many markets. This development is fueling our continued growth here in Pueblo.”

This is our history and Vestas is helping write that history as well as shape our future.”
