C&U shares launched a new hob bearing design

April 7, 2025 - Recently, the State Intellectual Property Office released a patent information obtained by C&U Co., Ltd. The patent involves an innovative design called "combined hob bearing", with the authorization announcement number CN 222716905 U and the application time in July 2024.

According to the description of the patent content, this hob bearing adopts a unique structural layout, mainly including the inner ring of the cutter shaft and the outer ring of the hob body. Two radial raceways are designed on the outer wall of the cutter shaft for mounting cylindrical rollers, and a boss is set between the two raceways. The outer peripheral wall of the boss contains multiple axial abutment surfaces, which together constitute an axial raceway for mounting thrust cylindrical roller bearings. With this design, the radial raceway is responsible for bearing radial loads, while the axial raceway is specifically for handling axial loads. When the external load induces an overturning moment, the cylindrical roller bearing and the thrust cylindrical roller bearing work together to achieve the separation of radial and axial loads, thereby greatly improving the overall bearing capacity and operating stability of the bearing.
