UTE company developed titanium fiber resin cage for dental handpiece bearing.
Titanium fiber resin is a new kind of material for ball retainer/cage, developed by UTE. It is a kind of super strong resin adding in titanium fiber. Generally, the diameter of titanium fiber is 0.3-0.6µm and its length is 10-20µm, it is five-hundredth of fiberglass which is usually used as resin strengthening material, and twentieth of carbon fiber. Because titanium fiber is superfine fiber, it gets very good mechanical performance after fixing with special resin and still keeps the integrity of original fiber. Therefore, it is very suitable for using as the material of ball retainer/cage of small size bearing.
Because of titanium fiber’s lower hardness in comparison with fiberglass, it can protect the ball better against attrition. Meanwhile, the special resin material for ball retainer/cage contains certain amount of solid lubricating material, which possesses the performances of decreasing friction and wearing resistant, and its lubrication performance is very suitable for the working environment of high temperature and pressure disinfecting, no oil or lack of oil.
UTE assigns overseas cage manufacturer to develop exclusive die for the production of this new material cage, in order to match the production of UTE dental handpiece bearing which works under the condition of 35-40rpm, consuming little power by itself and outputting much more power.
