CIMT 2007 Open in Beijing
Against a background that China has been the largest machine tool consumer worldwide, the 10th China International Machine Tool Show (CIMT 2007) opened yesterday (April 9) in Beijing. It will last until Sunday, April 15.
This year CIMT features more than 1,100 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions on 72,000 exhibition space in China International Exhibition Center. And according to the organizer China Machine Tool and Tool Builders' Association, products of the highest level in the history of CIMT are being showcased.
One highlight of this year's exhibits is that there are more high-speed machining centers with spindle speed of 10,000rpm or above ? about 70 out of the 210 machining centers on display are high-speed ones. Some models' highest spindle speed and moving rate even reach 30,000-40,000rpm and 60-70m/min respectively.
There are also around 20 multi-task machines, including six turn-mill machining centers, plus 5-axis mill-turn machining centers, ultrasonic-mill machine (DMG), laser-mill machine (DMG), and turn-grind machines (Nanjing CNC Machine Tool).
Innovative products can be seen, too. The HMCT Group, for instance, brings the LINKS-EXE700, a new generation high-speed rapid PKM. Regarding 5-axis machining centers, a breakthrough is seen in both the quality and quantity. There are also a number of sheet metalworking equipment, especially CNC laser cutting machines and CNC waterjet machines. So are large-sized measuring devices.
Prior to opening, an international top forum on the development of modern equipment and manufacturing industry took place. Speakers were representatives of industrial associations from China, the US, Italy, Korea, Germany, Japan, and so on.
