Wangxiang Industrial Park Demonstrates Strong Momentum of Growth
After five years’ development, Wanxiang Industrial Park in Huainan Economy & Technology Development Zone has demonstrated strong momentum of growth in recent years. At present, numbers of settled enterprises have increased to 8. Enterprises in the park have developed from just producer of special bearings to producer of many industrial products such as auto parts, auto interior products, machine tools, bearings etc., strengthening the competitive-edge of the park.
From Jan. to Apr. enterprises in the park have recorded a sale of 140 million, a year-on-year increase of 170%; reaching industrial added value of 40 million yuan, 160% higher than the corresponding period in prior year.
In April 2006, Wanxiang Group launched the second stage construction of their Huainan Wanxiang Special Bearing Co.,Ltd on which they had invested 50 million yuan for the first stage technical reform. The second stage construction has a total floor area of 27,000m2 and construction of the workplaces covering 20,000m2 has completed. In the spacious workplaces, staffs are busy mounting and testing various equipments, including 4 mould processing lines, 3 forging lines, 2 lathe processing lines and other domestic advanced ones.
The testing and mounting work will be finished in June and the lines are going to be put into production in August. So far, Wanxiang has totally invested 130 million yuan in the second stage construction and technical reform of Huainan Wanxiang Special Bearing Co.,Ltd. After completion of the second stage construction, a complete industrial chain for bearing production will be formed to be a source of parts for existing bearing business. It’s estimated that their annual sale are expected to exceed 200 million yuan.
Anhui Xinnangang Auto Interior Co.,Ltd, another key enterprise in the park, is making a change from an enterprise that only produces interior material to the one that specializes in value-added interior products. Since last year, the company has spent more than 4 million yuan to buy 10 weaving machines and a sewing ling, increasing their capacity to large degree.
Currently, the company has been responsible for interiors for 8 models of Chery cars. And they have signed contract with Shanghai-Volkswagen to supply interior material for auto doors. What’s more exciting news is the project to jointly develop airbag with Shanghai Yanfeng Trading Company, a subsidiary of Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation. The land for this project has been ready for use. On May 10, Tong qingxuan, chairman of Xinnangang company, went to Taiwan to negotiate with a world-renowned airbag producer about technology import. According to the company, they will produce the first-lot aigbag in November 2008.
According to the general planning, Wanxiang Group will altogether invest 1 billion yuan to the industrial park by 2010, achieving annual sale of 800 million yuan, export of USD5 million.
