The challenge facing the designers was to develop a unit which was operationally fast and compact but with a very high capacity. Equally important was to satisfy the 'public locations' of such equipment that clearly needed to be quiet, they had to be reliable while satisfying the obvious demand that the machine would bring substantial gains in productivity. The bearings used in this dispensing system had to meet a rigorous specification. Many alternative solutions of standard bearings from other manufacturers, that could meet the base specifications were considered, but all of them failed in three crucial areas. * First was compactness: the unique Spyraflo bearing is a real space saver. * Second was their cost effectiveness: due to the patented self-clinching capability, Spyraflo bearings saved on associated machining and components. * Third, and another major reason for Spyraflo selection was the self-aligning feature of the 6mm and 12mm Delrin flange-mount bearings that economically contributed perfectly to their needs
