The disassembly and uninstall of electric locomotive axle bearing has beset every staff of the bearing team because every time when they disassembled and uninstalled the bearing, they have to put the fifteen-kilogram bearing to the one-meter high working platform and the disassembly and uninstall process required two people to cooperate and took more than 10 minutes to complete the work; not only the whole procedure wasted time and power, but also it is easy to hurt the staff’s fingers because the inner surface of the bearing cover is very sharp.
In order to solve the problem, the staff of the team has exerted the wisdom of the group and finally invented the local tool for disassembling and uninstalling the bearing after consulting materials and several experiments. This tool is made of wood, 16 centimeters high and 40 centimeters wide. It is consist of one soleplate and two columns. The diameter of the column above is larger than that of the column below and the shape likes a mushroom on the ground, so it was called “mushroom”.
The tool is very convenient to use. You only need to put the bearing on the “mushroom”, align the bearing bushing and the column above , rap the bearing cover with wooden hammer, the bearing cover will fall off on the soleplate and the whole procedure takes less than 10 seconds.
